Painting in Mogote, Colorado

The Amarillo artists were joined by Kerry Ericksen in Rick’s courtyard Monday morning for coffee and breakfast. We left from there for a short drive to the back roads. It was a typical New Mexico landscape. Even though we were in Colorado, it is a short drive back to New Mexico. We painted Monday morning there, took a break for a couple of hours, then painted the Conejos River in the afternoon. Charles Firestone, Cindy Kelleher, Sandra Pelfrey, Mary Bechtol, Cherine Kuster and Marsha Clements all painted with Rick Howell and Kerry. Michael Pelfrey has been our go-for guy. The rest of the husbands are playing around and working (?). Fly fishing is one of the past times and tourist draws in this area. It is about 5 minutes to the mountains and 5 minutes to the desert. It’s a great place to paint.
